Fees and Charges FAQs

1. I have a current upfront membership, what happens to my membership?

Upfront memberships are no longer offered (excluding Octolegend 80 years plus membership). At the end of your contract expiry, you will have the option to continue your membership on a fortnightly direct debit membership.

2. Can I pay upfront for my membership if I wish?

No, membership payment options are Direct Debit only. Direct Debit can be set up from either a Bank Card or Bank Account with our Memberships team able to assist and explain. See Question 9.

3. I have a Fit over 50’s Membership, what has changed for my membership type?

Fees have remained the same, Fit over 50’s still have restricted access times in the gym but can now attend all group fitness classes.

4. I have a Gym only membership, what has changed for my membership type?

Both Gym only and Group Fitness only memberships will be automatically converted to Full Access memberships as of 9th August 2024. The new Direct Debit rate will be $36/fortnight* and include all membership inclusions included in question 6. *Concession rates apply

5. I have a Group Fitness only membership, what has changed for my membership type?

Both Group Fitness only and Gym only memberships will be automatically converted to Full Access memberships as of 9th August 2024. The new Direct Debit rate will be $36/fortnight* and include all membership inclusions included in question 6. *Concession rates apply

6. What are the Membership inclusions for Full Access memberships?

Full Access member inclusions: 24/7 Gym and Virtual Cycle Studio access, Initial Appraisal and Program, quarterly Body Scans, Program reviews every 8 weeks, 30+ Group Fitness Classes per week and casual shots (basketball).

7. What is a Body Scan and what is the benefit of having one?

The EVOLT 360 is a body composition analyser. It provides a quick, non-invasive measurement of your body composition delivering over 40 unique health metrics in under 60 seconds. The benefit of utilising a body scanner is the ability to see what the bathroom scales cannot. By measuring your body composition, an individualised health plan can be created for the best fit with your goals and personal needs.

8. Can I purchase packs of 10 Fitness passes?

No, 10 pack fitness passes have been discontinued. Single fitness passes can be purchased, or you can sign up for a Full Access Direct Debit membership (28 day notice for cancellation).

9. What does Direct Debit mean?

Your bank details or bank card are securely stored and automatically debited each fortnight (similar to many subscription services for streaming -Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Spotify and many phone and internet services). Direct Debit memberships have a 28-day cancellation policy but are essentially non-lock-in contracts and provide greater flexibility and out of pocket expense to members.

10. When do new fees and charges come into effect?

Immediate effect: New members will be subject to the updated membership options and pricing.
Monday 15th July 2024: General fees and charges will be implemented providing patrons with 2 weeks’ notice.
Friday 9th August 2024: Membership fees and structure for existing members will come into effect in line with the direct debit pay cycle, providing members with a minimum of 1 month notice as outlined in the T&C’s (Clause 6).

11. How do I book in to do an initial appraisal and program or a program review?

You can book in for your initial appraisal and program or a program review by calling the centre or speaking in-person with our Customer Service, Memberships or Fitness Coach staff members.

12. Why has the membership structure changed?

Our membership offering has been simplified and consolidated to streamline our operations and service offering to a contemporary structure to ensure we remain competitive and financially viable.

13. Why have fees and charges changed?

Fees and charges are reviewed annually as part of the Shire of Dardanup’s requirement under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1995 (the Act), to prepare and adopt an Annual Budget for each financial year. Pricing is set to ensure Eaton Recreation Centre is competitive and financially viable for a Local Government run Recreation Centre. We are confident that our fees and inclusions still provide value for money in our local area.

14. What is changing for Creche?

Creche will see a slight reduction in opening times from Monday 15th July 2024:

Monday to Thursday: 8.45am-11.45am (creche opening 15 minutes later than current)

Friday: 8.45am-10.45am (creche opening 15 minutes later and closing 1 hour earlier)

Saturday 7.45am – 10.15am (creche closing 30 minutes earlier).

Creche fees have also increased, and the 10-pack bulk purchase discount has been reduced.

15. What is the Start-up fee?

The $39 Start-up fee is a fee paid at sign up to set up the new membership as well as the member for their fitness journey. Included in the fee is a member access band and a welcome pack consisting of an ERC branded drawstring bag, towel, and water bottle, plus information flyers.
