Fees and Charges FAQs
1. Why have fees and charges changed?
Fees and charges are reviewed annually as part of the Shire of Dardanup’s requirement under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1995 (the Act), to prepare and adopt an Annual Budget for each financial year. Pricing is set to ensure Eaton Recreation Centre is competitive and financially viable for a Local Government run Recreation Centre.
2. When do new fees and charges come into effect?
Immediate effect: New members will be subject to the updated membership options and pricing.
Monday 21st July 2025: General fees and charges will be implemented providing patrons with 2 weeks’ notice.
Friday 8th August 2025: FIFO Membership increase, Direct Debit rejection fee increase and band breach penalties come into effect in line with the direct debit pay cycle, providing members with a minimum of 1 month notice as outlined in the T&C’s (Clause 6).
3. Can I pay upfront for my membership if I wish?
No, membership payment options are Direct Debit only (excluding Octolegend 80 years plus membership & Rehabilitation Membership). Direct Debit can be set up from either a Bank Card or Bank Account with our Memberships team able to assist and explain. See Question 9.
4. What does Direct Debit mean?
Your bank details or bank card are securely stored and automatically debited each fortnight (like many subscription services for streaming -Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Spotify and many phone and internet services). Direct Debit memberships have a 28-day cancellation policy but are essentially non-lock-in contracts and provide greater flexibility and out-of-pocket expense to members.
5. What are the Membership inclusions for Full Access memberships?
Full Access member inclusions: 24/7 Gym and Virtual Cycle Studio access, Initial Appraisal and Program, quarterly Body Scans, Program reviews every 12 weeks, ERC X TechnoGym app access, ongoing Fitness Coach support, discounted creche passes, 30+ Group Fitness Classes per week and casual shots (basketball).
6. What is a Body Scan and what is the benefit of having one?
The EVOLT 360 is a body composition analyser. It provides a quick, non-invasive measurement of your body composition delivering over 40 unique health metrics in under 60 seconds. The benefit of utilising a body scanner is the ability to see what the bathroom scales cannot. By measuring your body composition, an individualised health plan can be created for the best fit with your goals and personal needs.
7. How do I book in to do an initial appraisal and program or a program review?
You can book in for your initial appraisal and program or a program review by calling the centre or speaking in-person with our Customer Service, Memberships or Fitness Coach staff members.
8. What is the minimum age of membership?
Youth can become a member from the age of 14 years by signing up for a Youth Active membership (14-15 years) which has restricted access times and classes. A term-based program is coming soon for 12-15 year olds to develop fundamental movement patterns and prepare developing kids for a Youth Active membership.
9. Why has the TeenFit membership and offering ceased?
Teenfit is being replaced by a term-based program as identified above. The new term-based Youth Fitness Program is designed to offer more structure, variety, and support for young people on their fitness journeys and prepare them for the gym.
10. I only want to come casually, is that an option?
Yes, if your attendance will be irregular, it may be better for you to pay and attend on a casual basis. We have casual entry prices for gym and group fitness with concession and Fit over 50 specific class rate.
11. What is a ‘Band Breach penalty’?
A band breach penalty is applied for any member who shares their access band with others, for tailgating (letting others enter without scanning or following another member in without scanning), or breaching access rules of membership.
12. What is the Start-up fee?
The $45 Start-up fee is a fee paid at sign up to set up the new membership as well as the member for their fitness journey. Included in the fee is a member access band and a welcome pack consisting of an ERC branded drawstring bag, towel, and water bottle.
